GuardScan Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GuardScan (“the Service”) at guardscan.dev, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Rinse Repeat Labs.

2. Description of Service

GuardScan is a website security scanning tool that analyses publicly available information about websites, including HTTP security headers, SSL/TLS certificates, DNS records, cookie configurations, CORS policies, technology stack detection, and mixed content. The Service generates a security grade and report based on this analysis.

The Service is available in two tiers:

  • Free tier — basic scan results with summary grades and limited remediation previews
  • Beta tier — accessed via a beta access code, unlocking additional features including full remediation guides, downloadable PDF reports, scan history, and the ability to submit feedback on scan results

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Use the Service to scan websites you do not own or have authorisation to test
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or abuse the Service
  • Use the Service as part of any automated system, bot, or scraping tool without prior written permission
  • Use scan results to exploit vulnerabilities in any website
  • Use beta access codes obtained fraudulently, or share codes for the purpose of circumventing rate limits
  • Coordinate with others to repeatedly target a single domain in order to abuse or disrupt the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

We reserve the right to block or restrict access to the Service at our sole discretion if we believe these terms are being violated.

4. No Professional Advice

The Service provides informational results only. Scan results, grades, and recommendations do not constitute professional security advice, a security audit, or a certification of any kind.

  • A high grade does not guarantee a website is secure
  • A low grade does not necessarily indicate an active vulnerability
  • The Service checks only a subset of potential security configurations

You should not rely solely on GuardScan results to make security decisions. For comprehensive security assessments, consult a qualified security professional.

5. Accuracy and Completeness

We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate scan results, but we do not warrant that results are complete, current, or error-free. Website configurations can change at any time, and scan results reflect a point-in-time snapshot only.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of Rinse Repeat Labs. Scan results generated for your websites may be freely shared and used by you.

7. Shareable Reports

Scan results are accessible via unique report URLs. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:

  • Scan results for any domain you submit may be accessed by anyone with the report URL
  • You are responsible for how you share report URLs
  • We may display aggregate, anonymised statistics (such as total scans performed)
  • Scan results may be cached and returned from a recent previous scan of the same domain within a short cooldown window, rather than performing a new scan

8. Beta Access

Beta access codes are provided free of charge during the beta period. By using a beta access code, you acknowledge that:

  • We may revoke or expire any beta access code at our discretion and without notice
  • Features available under beta access may change, be removed, or become paid features in the future
  • There is no guarantee of continued free access to any beta features
  • Beta access does not create any entitlement to future access, features, or service levels

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rinse Repeat Labs and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which, for the free tier, is zero).

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Service Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
