TimeFlow Privacy Policy

This page mirrors TimeFlow’s privacy policy. The canonical version, the one linked from the App Store and Play listings, is published with the app at imcmurray.github.io/TimeFlow/privacy.html. If the two ever differ, that one is authoritative.

TimeFlow is a daily schedule app made by Rinse Repeat Labs, Ian McMurray’s studio (published on the App Store under Ian McMurray). It has no accounts, no servers of its own, no advertising and no analytics. This page explains what happens to the information you put into it.

Your tasks stay on your device

  • Tasks, notes, photos and settings are stored only on the device you use TimeFlow on. In the iPhone, iPad, Android and desktop apps that is the app’s private storage; in the web version it is your browser’s storage for this site.
  • TimeFlow never sends them anywhere. Deleting the app, or clearing this site’s data in your browser, deletes them.
  • Backups are files you save yourself, to a place you choose. TimeFlow doesn’t keep copies.

Sharing a schedule

When you share a schedule as a link, the tasks you chose are packed into the link itself, after the #. That part of a link is not sent to any server when it’s opened, including ours: the recipient’s browser reads it locally. Anyone who has the link can see what’s in it, so share it only with people you trust. You can leave out descriptions and notes when sharing.

Permissions (Android)

  • Notifications — to remind you before tasks start.
  • Alarms & reminders — so reminders arrive on the minute. Optional; without it they may be a few minutes late.
  • Run at startup — to set your reminders again after the phone restarts.
  • Camera and photos — only when you choose to add a photo to a task, through the system’s own camera and photo picker.

TimeFlow doesn’t request internet access on Android.

The iOS app collects no data, as declared on its App Store privacy label.

The web version

The web version is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any website, GitHub receives your IP address and browser details when the app’s files are downloaded; see GitHub’s privacy statement. The app’s display engine also downloads standard fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.gstatic.com) when needed; see Google Fonts’ privacy FAQ. Your tasks are not part of either request.

Children

TimeFlow isn’t directed at children under 13 and doesn’t knowingly collect anything from anyone.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at the canonical address above with a new date, and this page will be updated to match. Questions or concerns: TimeFlow support.
